San Diego Windsurfing Goddess
My earliest memory of Marianne was of this striking, sun-drenched, San Diego windsurfing goddess, cruising the shores of Stanford’s Lake Lagunita during spring quarter. Obviously totally out of Albert’s league!
She surprised us all by marrying him while he was still in college. On their honeymoon, by random coincidence, my parents were visiting the same hotel. Apparently my Mom & Dad talked their way into the honeymoon suite while the newlyweds were out, and short-sheeted their bed (a 1950’s era prank you don’t hear much about these days).
Marika and I have always been inspired by Albert and Mar’s relationship. It’s been a love story full of adventure, family, humor and optimism. They are both in a league of their own.
