Dawn & Jon Drake - Memories
Jon and I met Marianne (and Albert) when Marianne and I joined Junior Aid of Stockton in the Fall of 1991. We were both mothers of young boys and members of AAUW. We attended Friday play groups with our boys, while working our way through 10 years of volunteering and being on the board of Junior Aid. Then in 1994 Jon and I joined their gourmet group, which continues to this day! Since 1996 the gourmet gals would spend a weekend in Carmel, shopping, eating, having wine, talking, and laughing. Marianne always came prepared with topics for us to discuss!
I was always amazed and inspired by Marianne’s ability to talk to anyone, keep a conversation going, and listen intently. She took care of her family and friends with ease and warmth. And her smile lit up every room she walked into. Jon and I feel blessed to have known her.
