Marshall Monroe - A San Francisco Visit (Part 1)

A friend and I stopped through SFO last year (2019) after a talk I had given out at Lawrence Livermore Labs.  We stayed with Albert and Marianne and just visited.  We talked about Freedom and the blessings we have in this country, as I was sharing some of my talk topic, which was about China and totalitarianism.  We watched The Cold Blue that night - those 19-year old boys who helped win WWII.  Amazing.  Then we spent breakfast the next morning listening to Marianne and her glowing stories about Tom, who had interned with our company in New Mexico, and her wonderful life, meeting Albert and their joyful travels.  We drove around SFO to some sights because my friend had never been there.  Short visit.
She was just glowing.  The picture attached is from New Mexico on the day she passed - early dawn heading to our ranch for a few days.  I was thinking tonight - some journeys near their end become dimmer and subdued.  Others, like Marianne's, glow brighter, like a sunrise - golden yellow, pinks, oranges, and azure blue.  Something new beginning.  That is how it was to be with her just a few months ago, despite the battle that was in her midst.  What an inspiration.  Bless you guys, Albert, Tom and your family.  We will miss her - she taught us all a lot.
